Logistics Screening for Efficient Logistics Performance

In many companies logistics costs have a high significance. Ultimately they comprise from 7% (industry) to 16% (trade) share of total costs. With the Logistics Screening we reveal optimization potential and initiate sustainable measures which significantly increase the performance of logistics in your company.

Logistics Screening reduces throughput time

With our short project Logistics Screening we systematically examine your logistics processes and the different variables of your distribution chain. A functioning and efficient logistics operation is the basis for the whole supply process. With the 3 essential variables – personnel, infrastructure and inventory – logistics is crucial to the successful implementation of the distribution strategy of a company.

The evaluation of the logistics performance of your company is the starting point of our Logistics Screening. In addition, we evaluate selected data and consolidate them into key numbers. Further, employee interviews are an important component of our Logistics Screening projects. Based on the first results our logistics experts choose selected methods from the TARGUS-Toolbox to carry out further detailed analysis.

Better logistics control through Logistics Screening

Often logistics processes can be simplified and made more manageable through standardization. This creates the flexibility to react to changes more quickly. Using the Logistics Screening formerly unused potential is revealed and concrete measures to improve logistics performance are developed.

We are pleased to support you in implementing the planned measures. Logistics Screening is the foundation that makes your logistic processes easier to control, as well as more robust and agile. To evaluate your entire value-added chain we also offer our short project Supply Chain Screening.

Logistics Screening tailored

In preparation for the Logistics Screening we determine targets and project parameters together with you. For example, we determine which of the various logistics centers or

locations in your company network can deliver representative results for your entire logistics operations.

In order to consider the unique circumstances of your company, we will meet with your employees. During the Logistics Screening it is important for us to include employees not only from logistics but also from other departments. Only then we can find out whether there are conflicting objectives within the company which affect the performance potential of the individual departments. Further, all logistics locations are contacted via a questionnaire to determine the essential logistics aspects of your company. Through our detailed Logistics Screening procedure you receive tailored results to improve the efficiency of your logistics processes.

Logistics Screening applied

Within the framework of a past process optimization project our experienced consultants applied the Logistics Screening. The initial results of the analysis showed that despite high overall inventory stock there was an insufficient stock of certain items. Further, these products were not available quickly enough when needed.

Using various individualized methods to analyze the situation our logistics experts determined that the supply parameters within the system were not correctly maintained. Consequently there were many high-value items on stock without short-term demand. By updating the parameters the correct items were made available. At the same time the inventory of unneeded items was reduced. Overall, the inventory could be reduced by ascending availability.

In addition, the Logistics Screening showed that orders, especially important special orders, were not being processed quickly enough. Through the introduction of an express order process the delivery time was significantly reduced.
